MSF measles vaccination in Dhobley, Somalia.

On 6th March 2021, data from the MSF supported surveillance system in Dhobley reported 3 suspected cases of measles in Wabeeri section. By the 11th April, a total of 51 cases were reported with 2 deaths of children under age of 5 years.

MSF has since launched a measles vaccination mop up campaign in Dhobley town for children aged 6 months to 15 years. The one-month long mop up campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, runs from 1st to 31st May and aims to reach 9,900 children. In addition to measles, all children will be given vitamin A supplements and nutrition status screening for those under the age of five years.
