Mozambique: MSF suspends activities in Mocímboa da Praia as violence surges
As of 26 September, MSF has suspended all medical activities in Mocímboa da Praia. Services were being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. They include the emergency room and maternity ward at the District Rural Hospital of Mocímboa da Praia, other lifesaving care at the facility and the referral system that enables patients with severe conditions to be transferred to other facilities. Mental health and psychosocial support as well as outreach activities run by community health workers in remote areas are also suspended. Some patients requiring specialised care have been referred to health facilities in Pemba and Mueda. Article - 26 Sep 2025

Lebanon is home to more than a million Syrian refugees, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, and many migrants who already live in precarious conditions. These communities were excluded from many relief efforts during the escalation, despite facing the same urgent needs for food, shelter and healthcare. Mozambique: MSF ends emergency response in Chiure after mass displacement, but the crisis in Cabo Delgado is far from over
While the situation in Chiure has calmed down for now, communities in other areas of Cabo Delgado continue to face violent attacks. In early September, violence in the coastal town of Mocímboa da Praia reportedly killed several people, triggering the movement of hundreds of people towards Mueda and other inland villages. Aid cuts threaten refugee lives in Ethiopia’s Gambella Region
Since October 2024, refugees in Kule camp have received as little as 600 calories a day—less than 30 percent of the recommended daily minimum of 2,100 calories per person. Other refugee camps in the region are also experiencing a similar situation. At times, food distribution has stopped for months due to international supply chain disruptions and funding shortages.
