One special moment

In 2025, Médecins Sans Frontières/ Doctors Without Borders (MSF) teams continued to respond to some of the world’s most urgent crises. Violence against communities in Sudan, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo has escalated. About 4.4 million people (about 23% of the population) are projected to face severe food insecurity in Somalia. Facing multiple challenges across the humanitarian sector, our teams remained committed and ready to provide free lifesaving medical care wherever it was needed most.

In Kenya, MSF teams responded to 13 emergencies nationwide while continuing to support our ongoing programmes in Homa Bay, Mombasa, Garissa, and Nairobi. This year, colleagues assisted communities across the country affected by outbreaks of diseases including measles, cholera and Mpox; supported the injured during moments of unrest and provided much-needed medical supplies following a landslide in Elgeyo Marakwet.

Our work wouldn’t be possible without your support – it may feel like one person cannot do much, but then there's that special moment when we all can make a difference, when we can all be present for each other.
