South Sudan: Humanitarian aid urgently needed for thousands of displaced people from Agok

Since early March,  MSF has been responding to an acute emergency in South Sudan. Armed clashes in the Abyei Special Administrative Area (ASAA), a contested zone on the border between South Sudan and Sudan, have resulted in mass displacement of people to the north towards Abyei town, and to the south towards Twic County in Warrap State.  MSF has been responding to the urgent needs of the displaced population in four locations in Twic County .

The number of people displaced in Twic County and the massive food, shelter and health needs is resulting in a dire situation. Humanitarian activities must be increased to reflect the scale of needs of the people displaced. Charles Gaudry, Deputy Director of Operations  of the MSF Emergency Response Unit describes the situation.
