Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF Supply Kenya) is looking to fill the position of a Warehouse Manager. The selected candidate will report to the Supply Chain Manager for daily supervision.
Objective of the Position
Defining, coordinating, and monitoring of all Warehouse Stock Management activities according to MSF protocols, standards, and procedures in order to ensure the optimal running of the MSF Supply Kenya warehouses.
Tasks & Responsibilities
S/he will perform the following main tasks, among others:-
Operational responsibility:
- Plan daily activities in MSF Supply Kenya warehouses considering operational priorities and guidance from the line manager
- Manage his team and elaborating their activities planning (Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse attendants and Casuals)
- Monitor the implementation of the daily activities, following up of the medical and logistics stocks, ensuring compliance with MSF Supply standards, protocols and procedures, and reporting to the right person in case of any deviation
- Is responsible for physical and administrative management of the products inside the warehouse in conjunction with the Quality Department and MSF Supply standard (Quality Management System, Warehouse Management System, inventory…)
- Manage, in collaboration with MSF Supply in Brussels, the tools/software developed for the optimization of the workflow in the warehouses – raising proposal for improvement, identification of bugs…
- Is responsible to continually assess and propose arrangement/solution to optimize the resource (space, rack…) in the warehouse facility
Manager responsibility:
- Ensure technical support for his/her area of activity and providing coaching/training to staff under his/her responsibility.
- Propose the budget necessary for the warehousing activities (investment, maintenance, consumables, human resources)
- Ensure all equipment and premises are adapted to the proper storage of goods in compliance with Good Storage and Distribution Practices
- Analyze monthly/quarterly warehouse data, identifying problems, and proposing solutions to Leadership team
- Is responsible to ensure the functioning of the warehouse facility (including safety/security, maintenance plan) in MSF Supply Kenya warehouse
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the compliance of the warehouse
- Collaborate with HR Manager for any HR associated process (recruitment, training, evaluation…)
Qualifications & Requirement
Education: Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Project management or related studies in Warehouse Management. Degree in the same field is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Desirable at least 3 years of experience in strategic warehouse management.
- Desirable: Experience in or familiarity with implementing warehouse management tools, Project Management, people management and development, and Pharmaceutical product management.
Skills/ Competences: Problem-solving and leadership qualities, strategic and analytical, results and quality oriented, behavioral flexibility, Teamwork, and cooperation, computer literate.
Language: Proficiency in written and oral English & Swahili.
