Over 2,700 Cholera Patients Treated, 92 Dead in MSF-Supported Facility in Sudan’s White Nile State

Since February 20, when the latest cholera outbreak started in Sudan’s White Nile State, until March 5, a total of 2,718 cases have been admitted to the Ministry of Health cholera treatment centre at Kosti Teaching Hospital, supported by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). The MSF Eastern Africa Media Fellowship was initiated in 2024, aiming at journalists in Kenya. More than 400 journalists applied for this opportunity. The first edition included a full-day workshop, after which participants submitted their pitches. Ultimately, three successful journalists received reporting grants to cover humanitarian stories from Kenya and South Sudan.
