MSF Eastlands project

Since 2008, MSF has been responding to urban violence in Eastlands, Nairobi by providing comprehensive medical care to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Services are offered through Lavender House Clinic and Ministry of Health facilities (Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital and Dandora II Health Centre) using a nurse-led model.

While the situation in Chiure has calmed down for now, communities in other areas of Cabo Delgado continue to face violent attacks. In early September, violence in the coastal town of Mocímboa da Praia reportedly killed several people, triggering the movement of hundreds of people towards Mueda and other inland villages. Sudan: Deadly attacks across Darfur leave nearly 100 wounded people in MSF-supported facilities

Following a series of attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), 99 wounded patients, including women and children, arrived at Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) - supported health facilities across North, Central, and South Darfur in Sudan, on 10 September. On 4th of September 2025, a new outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), Zaire strain, has been declared in the remote Bulape Health Zone, KasaÏ province. An Ebola Treatment Centre (ETC) has been established within the hospital compound, the facility began admitting its first patients. MSF, MoH, and WHO teams are jointly providing care.

Yemen: Acute watery diarrhoea surge puts people at risk in Ibb and Al-Hodeidah

Acute watery diarrhoea outbreaks in Yemen are not new, but they are becoming more frequent and severe. The country’s inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure is a major driver of transmission. Floods and stagnant water during the rainy season worsen the situation, straining already fragile infrastructure and contaminating water sources, which increases the risk of widespread infection. Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh: The long wait for medical care

Over one million people live in the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, some for decades but many since the deadly crackdown in 2017 that sent hundreds of thousands across the border from Myanmar to Bangladesh. The fighting in Myanmar continues today and the camps have seen a significant rise in new arrivals since last year, putting even more pressure on what little assistance is available. “One of my sons moved to us from Myanmar with his eight family members three months ago. So far, he hasn't received any rations. It is becoming difficult for us to feed so many people,” says Abdul Kalam who comes to MSF for his diabetes medication. Article - 8 Sep 2025
